MEETING WITH CONSULATE GENERAL OF GERMANY IN ST. PETERSBURG REPRESENTATIVES

On October 9, KRC office held a meeting with Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany in St. Petersburg employees : Eric Larz, Annika Jessen and Evgenia Gavrilova.

Nikolay Oskin, Director General of KRC NGOs, and Natalia Vartanova, Executive Director of "Petrozavodsk" fund, reported on the "German Days in Petrozavodsk" project implementation and past and upcoming events. Natalia Lavrushina, an expert on international cooperation, said that ties between Petrozavodsk and its German twin cities of Tübingen and Neubrandenburg are as strong as ever. Annual "Days of German culture" in Karelia for the past 5 years serve as evidence to that statement.

Ksenia Chumak, Deputy Director General of KRC NGOs, presented a "School Museum as a meeting place and a platform for twin cities cooperation" project, sponsored by President Grants Fund. The key point of the project is engaging children and young people in joint projects.

Consulate representatives talked about plans for the next year, which was declared the Year of Germany in Russia.
